In New Jersey, 1,088,920 women are in need of contraceptive services and supplies. Of these, 395,510 women need publicly supported contraceptive services because they have incomes below 250% of the federal poverty level (250,410) or are sexually active teenagers (144,100). The New Jersey Family Planning League is a private, nonprofit organization that administers federal Title X funding and provides technical support and quality assurance for family planning services in the state of New Jersey. NJFPL’s network consists of a central office and five delegate agencies providing family planning and a broad range of medical and educational services in twelve New Jersey counties.

The network of family planning agencies in the League’s service delivery system reflects a diverse but vital component of the state’s public health infrastructure for low-income women and men. In 2007 NJFPL’s Title X delegate agencies provided services to more than 77,000 women, men and adolescents of which 89% were at or below 150% of the federal poverty level.
