Abortion Access
Everyone deserves the right to make informed decisions about their own body and future in a safe, supportive environment. Whether you are seeking care, looking for resources, or trying to understand your rights, the League’s mission is to provide clear, compassionate, and unwavering support for your reproductive health journey.
NJFPL’s Expanding Abortion Access Program (EAAP) was established in direct response to the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson decision, which overturned the federal right to abortion. While other states are restricting abortion access, New Jersey remains a steadfast sanctuary for reproductive freedom.
EAAP Goals
This program is dedicated to ensuring equitable, accessible, patient-centered care for all people seeking abortion. It focuses on four essential components:
Provide financial support for individuals who lack insurance coverage, are underinsured, or whose insurance is unusable
Increase access through expanded hours, services, and locations
Improve direct assistance for individuals including patient navigation, transportation, lodging, interpreter systems, comfort measures, and more
Expand outreach and marketing to ensure the public is aware of abortion services and where to find them
Leading the way on abortion research
In addition to supporting high-quality abortion care across the state, NJFPL engages with nationally-recognized researchers at Rutgers School of Public Health for abortion research. This partnership aims to better understand the landscape of abortion access, rights, barriers, identify areas of improvement, and more.
